This is just the start! In the weeks and months ahead I’ll be adding videos and content to answer your questions, share tips, and make your creative journey easier. I’ve had plenty of hurdles myself, and I can’t wait to pass on what I’ve learned so you can skip the struggles and dive straight in!
In this video I’ll show you how to use a rivet machine step by step. From setting it up to that oh-so-satisfying final press, I’ll take you through the process and share a few little tips along the way. It’s easier (and more fun!) than you might think, and by the end you’ll see why I called this video Riveting Stuff!
When working with denim, sometimes the fabric feels too thick for a domestic sewing machine. A simple trick? Use a hammer (not on the sewing machine — on the denim!). Just hammer the damn thing, especially over those bulky seams, and you’ll compress the fibres so the layers become thinner and easier to sew. This means your machine can glide through much more smoothly (just make sure you’ve got the right needle too). It’s a little old-school, but it works wonders!
I’ve had so many requests on Facebook asking how I make a woven panel, so here it is! In this tutorial I’ll show you step by step how I do it, using upcycled denim to create something really unique for your bag projects. Hope you enjoy!
